If the other team has a Kali and you don't immediately see or kill her, pack up and LEAVE. If you have spare time, you can always pick up the LMG as the deployment time is relatively fast. The face shield won't save you if you're already dead. If you hear a grenade pin pulled, run as fast as you can AWAY from there. Second tip: do not get attached to the LMG.
If your teammate has a deployable shield and actually lets you use it, even better! Many desks leave your middle to upper chest exposed, but a deployable shield will completely cover you from the front. You can also use your sausage shotgun (SASG) to make a hole in a soft wall to peek or spawnpeek out of. Many sites feature desks that can very effectively block the bottom half of your body, effectively making you into Montagne with a big death stick attached. Even if there's a soft wall covering your bottom half, for some reason enemies usually aim for your face shield.
